Billy and Phyllis Loftin

Phyllis and Billy Loftin have dedicated their lives to philanthropy.  Their five children all attended St. Louis Catholic High School, continuing a legacy of service that started many years ago.

Billy’s commitment to Catholic education started in his own elementary school days at St. Aloysius and continued at Catholic High School in Baton Rouge from 1980-84. He continuously supported St. Louis Catholic High School even after his children graduated, serving on the St. Louis Foundation’s Board of Directors for five years, including a three-year term as chairman (2017-19).

“I could never give back enough for all of the blessings which I have received from my Catholic education,” Billy Loftin said.

Born in DeRidder, Billy received a Bachelor of General Studies Degree from Louisiana State University in 1988 and earned his Juris Doctorate Degree from LSU in 1991.  Billy served as a staff attorney for the Louisiana Third Circuit Court of Appeal for two years and then entered private practice in Lake Charles in 1993, gaining extensive experience in real estate, family law, insurance defense, corporate defense and municipal defense.

Billy is admitted before all Louisiana State Courts as well as the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Western and Middle Districts of Louisiana and the United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeal.  In 2000, Billy was appointed to serve as the City Attorney of Lake Charles. He served from the year 2000 until June 30, 2017.

Phyllis was born in Lake Arthur and attended Delta School of Business and McNeese State University.  She moved to Lake Charles in 1991 to begin her career as a paralegal, which spanned nearly 25 years. Phyllis obtained her Real Estate license in May 2010 and began selling real estate full time with Moffitt Latter & Blum after she retired as a paralegal.  She has been a multi-million-dollar producer since 2011 and earned “Top of the Latter” designation since 2014.

In addition to their five children, Phyllis and Billy have two beautiful grandchildren.
