The girls indoor track & field team posted a dominating performance at LSU Sunday to outpoint Episcopal 83-59 and earn their second consecutive Division II state championship. Senior Halyn Senegal led the Lady Saints, scoring 30.5 points by winning the 400 and 800 meter runs, placing second in the 60 meter dash and running the anchor leg of the 4 x 400 meter relay.

Other athletes scoring for the champion girls team were: Kenzie Touchet (3rd in 400, 3rd in 60 hurdles, 1st on 4 x 200, 1st on 4 x 400), Tia Reder (4th in long jump, 1st on 4 x 200 relay), Kassidy Richard (4th in 60 hurdles, 1st on 4 x 400 relay), Amerie Guillory (4th in shot put), Genesis Bass (1st on 4 x 200 relay), Ella Simoneaux (1st on 4 x 400 relay), Shelby Willis (1st on 4 x 200 relay), Maci Fontenot (5th in high jump), Kylie Hebert (2nd on 4 x 800 relay), Emma Karam (2nd on 4 x 800 relay), Ella Segura (2nd on 4 x 800 relay), Kendal Touchet (2nd on 4 x 800 relay), Emma Freeman (6th in shot put)

The boys team placed fifth, led by senior Josh Orsot’s 11 points. Orsot placed 2nd in the 400 meters and ran legs on the third place 4 x 200 and 4 x 400 meter relays. Also scoring for the boys were: Wesley Maze (5th in 60 meters, 3rd on 4 x 200, 3rd on 4 x 400), Jules Hardy (3rd on 4 x 200, 3rd on 4 x 400), Logan Trahan (3rd on 4 x 200, 3rd on 4 x 400).
