Boys Basketball

The Saints traveled to Iowa Tuesday night and came home with a 55-51 win over one of the top teams in the district. Senior Nic Ughovwa led the team with 19 points and junior Bryson Hardy added 18. Coach Guillory’s squad is now in second place in league play, just one game behind South Beauregard. The Saints will host Jennings Friday night at Burton Coliseum.


Boys Soccer

The boys soccer team celebrated senior night Tuesday with a 5-0 non-district win over Sam Houston. Honored in a ceremony before the game were seniors Ivan Appleton, Ahsan Awan, Payton Byrley, Adyn Gaughan, Austin Hennigan, Xander Kihlken, Gabe Lechtenberg, Thaddeus Logan, Dru Montet, Colby Rapp, Parris Reale, Addison Templet and Jack VanHoose. The Saints will travel to North Vermilion on Saturday in a match which will likely decide the district title.


Girls Basketball

The Lady Saints continued their roll through District 4-3A, completing the first half of league play with a perfect 5-0 record. In Tuesday’s road win at Iowa, junior Myca Trail tallied 32 points and juniors Raven Guillory and Tia Reder and sophomore Paris Guillory each added 12. Coach Johnson’s team will host Jennings Friday night at Burton Coliseum.



The LHSAA announced Tuesday that it was canceling the remainder of regular season wrestling matches for the 2020-21 season. The organization stated that the move was in an effort to ensure that the state championships would go on as scheduled in late February. Coach Gage and his team will compete at the Division III state tournament on February 26-27 in Baton Rouge.


Girls Soccer

The girls soccer team remained undefeated in district play with a 6-0 win at Erath Saturday. The win sets up a showdown for the district championship Saturday at undefeated North Vermilion. The Lady Saints will host Catholic-New Iberia on Monday in a non-district game at which the team’s 11 seniors will be honored.


Indoor Track

The Saints boys and girls track & field team will return to action Saturday at LSU in another state qualifying meet. Coach Giordano and his squads are attempting to qualify as many athletes as possible for the state meet which will be held on February 20.



Coach Larsen and his boys and girls powerlifting teams will compete on Saturday at Central Catholic of Morgan City. Several lifters accomplished personal bests at the season’s first meet and more are expected this time around.
