-Advanced Placement

Advanced Placement courses are high school classes that follow a more intense curriculum. These classes provide students with insight into the rigor of a collegiate course while they benefit from the support structure available at the high school level. At the end of the academic year, students have the opportunity to sit for an Advanced Placement exam. Students who exhibit mastery of the materials – generally defined as earning a score of at least 3 on a scale of 5 – may earn college credit for the course.
