The Office of Catholic Schools has been diligently working with principals, our health partners, diocesan leadership and school communities to plan a safe return to our school campuses in August. As we formulate our procedures, we all agree that it is imperative that our students return and our faculty is excited to reconnect with them in August.

All schools will resume school August 13, 2020 and all students will attend school 5 days per week. We will remain in compliance with regulations in force at the time. Our procedures will include temperature checks, face coverings for faculty and students grade 3 and up, when able and to the maximum extent possible, increased hand washing and social distancing. We will work to ensure a clean and sanitized environment for the health and safety of students and staff. We understand that students and families may have individualized needs and concerns and we encourage families to reach out to their school principals if needed.

Schools may find the need to stagger arrival and departure times to keep students safe and we will be releasing further site details of procedures in the coming weeks. We do recognize this is a fluid situation and as always if the need arises, we will be ready to offer a virtual learning program infused with Catholic identity.

We are excited to see our students in August praying, learning and interacting with their peers. As always, we appreciate and are grateful for your ongoing support of Catholic education in the Diocese of Lake Charles.
